Soulara’s Philosophy & Mission

Soulara’s philosophy is to help all individuals access a space that is beyond themselves. A space that has been referred to with many names, but that I refer to as the divine. I believe that through connection and openness to this divine space, the human condition can feel a sense of connectedness to self and others, and feel a radical sense of freedom that can allow one to live their life how they choose.

We all came into this world as infants, a world which was already constructed for us before we arrived. Our family, society, desired personality, and even our own name was given to us by others. Therefore, even before we are born, an ego is already forming for the infant to adopt upon entering this world. The 20th-century psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan referred to this state as “alienation”. The ego, while serving us to live and conform to society, also comes at a cost: a repression of our sense of authenticity and truth, which I believe comes from our divine core. The ego covers this divine core by making the person misrecognize their ego as their truth. We all know this from experience. Just remember a time when you felt like you had to do something or follow a desire that you know you don’t really want to do. Situations like this show that there are two types of desire: an inauthentic desire, which comes from the programming of the ego, and an authentic desire, which is waiting to be expressed.

Through services like spiritual coaching and psychoanalysis, and through educational content, my mission is to help people cultivate an openness to what lies beyond the ego's borders and to develop a relationship with the divine. It is not about destroying the ego or bashing it; it is about opening up to the divine that is the core of everything. I also believe that only the person knows what their sense of authenticity is, so our mission is to help be a guide along that journey to help one come to self-knowledge about who they are as a spiritual being.
